So my 6 months at EDAM have come to an end ... As a graduate, this was my first full-time, on-site position which meant that it was something I had to adapt to quite quickly. Despite being 'office baby' (the youngest member of the team), I always felt as though my input was valid and heard. It has been been great to feel like a valued and important part of a busy department and developing company - I think this is the aspect which has boosted my confidence the most. It goes without saying that I have met friends for life. The fact that I did not know these people only 6 months ago is hard to wrap my head around, but it also makes me so excited to think of what else is waiting for me. How lucky am I to be able to say that?So it is goodbye for a short time .. next stop is South Africa. I will be sure to keep you all updated on that front 😁

🌟 Life is Short: Seize the Moment! 🌟I wanted to take a moment to reflect on something that's been on my mind lately – the brevity of life. 💭 Having just taken up an incredible new role as Regional Director for Africa at The Management Recruitment Group (MRG), I have been reflecting on just how lucky I am to be in the company of not just incredibly skilled professionals but genuinely kind-hearted humans. It's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our professional lives, striving for success and growth (which is fantastic, by the way!), but we mustn't forget that life is an exquisite gift, and our time here is limited. ⏳So, here's a gentle reminder: Don't postpone your dreams and aspirations. ✅ Apply for that job opportunity you've been eyeing. 🌟 Book that flight or take time off to explore.🌎 Reach out to your loved ones and tell them how much they mean to you. ❤️We all have that "someday" list - those experiences, goals, and connections we've been delaying for various reasons. But as we've seen, life can be unpredictable, and sometimes, there may not be a "someday."Life is too beautiful to be held back by hesitations and doubts. So here's to a life well-lived, to seizing the moment, and to telling people you love them. 🚀#CarpeDiem #LifeIsShort #SeizeTheMoment #EmbraceOpportunity #SpreadLove

Leveling the Educational Playing Field in Africa 🌍A crucial insight from my journey: Most students in Africa attend under-resourced public universities, creating a gap in job market preparedness. This inspired Gabriel Ekman and me to create BAG.BAG isn't just a project; it's a mission to democratize educational opportunities. Our job simulations offer practical, hands-on experience, equipping students from all backgrounds with the skills needed in today's job market. Our goal? To empower every young African with the tools for success, regardless of their educational background. Here's to shaping a future where opportunity is truly equal.

Twenty-two years ago this month, I joined the World Food Programme. My professional journey started in the Sahel in 2001 and brought me back to Haiti last year. I have learned a lot along the way -- here's some advice for new and aspiring humanitarian workers: 1-Start your career in the field. If you're in an entry level position in headquarters, move to a country office as soon as you can. This is where you will learn, grow and find your niche. 2-If you see something wrong in the workplace, call it out. Be the voice that makes your colleagues, team and office better. 3-Take care of yourself. I have found that stress accumulates in unexpected ways. Cultivate a hobby. If you don't have one, find one. Take your time off. Call your mom. 4-Think hard before jumping on a new opportunity. That promotion will always be there. 5-Seek out mentors when you're starting out; and when you've progressed in your career, make sure you mentor others. 6-From time to time, reconnect with your purpose. Revisit what brought you here. Check that the job still works for you. This will help you deal with the ups and downs that we all face. Take care everyone!

My entire experience in managing overseas the companies I have collaborated with, can be summarized into a simple concept: good relationships are the fundamental corollary of all other abilities. It's a fundamental skill, not just a personal capability. It needs experience, willingness, knowledge and, above all, education.

I’ve never posted on here but I thought I’d give some insights to my strange but interesting career. Working out at sea comes with its challenges, but if you can use it as a stepping stone to an end goal it’s a sacrifice well worth taking. Here are a few pros that come with working on the rigs.⚫️ Plenty of Downtime🛬: One of the main advantages is you get an entire month off every other month. This is your golden time to dive into what you love, be it chilling with family & friends, traveling the world, playing some golf, creating that side hustle or just catching up on some well-deserved rest.⚫️ Pay 💰 : Working on the rigs means you’re not just earning you’re banking more than many can dream of in traditional 9-5 jobs, giving opportunities to invest or create businesses thanks to those extra hours and hazard bonuses.⚫️ Rapid Skill Growth 🚀: There’s no better way to sharpen your skills than being right in the thick of it for a whole month. It’s intense, but you come out more skilled and ready for whatever comes next.⚫️See the World 🌍:If you’re on a offshore installation you’re also signing up for an adventure. Opening opportunities for working across the globe while collecting stamps on your passport and having stories for days.⚫️ Opportunities 🛠️: You’ll be surprised at the amount of opportunities and options you will receive after just a couple of years offshore, as this will show the resilience, leadership, and technical know-how you have gained, opening doors in various sectors. One of the amazing sights I’ve been able to enjoy since working in Nigeria 🇳🇬 🐋
