The former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar is finding out the hard way that things are not going to come easy for her in her rookie campaign in the WNBA. On Friday night, she was reminded of that as the Indiana Fever took on the defending champion Las Vegas Aces.

Early in the second quarter, Aces star Alysha Clark became enraged aftershe was calledfor a foul following Clark’s attempt to drive to the basket and score.

Clark took a huge hit to her face and got two free throwsbecause of it.

It’s challenging for Caitlin Clark to lead the typical life she formerly knew because she is constantly harassed by fans and the media.

She recently spoke on that fact.

“Honestly, I feel like I talk to the media more than I get to talk to my own family … which isreallykind of sad, in a way,” Clark said during a press conference earlier this week. “It’s a lot for somebody that’s 22 years old. It can be tough at times.”

After a successful start to the current season, Clark recently signed a multi-year partnership deal with the sporting goods company Wilson. Clark became the first player after NBA legendMichael Jordanto cement the deal. This accomplishment was noticed by tennis veteran Billie Jean King.

King herself has a history with Wilson. The post had Clark potting her famous logo three in the background, wearing the Hawkeyes jersey. In the front, she was seen wearing her Indiana Fever jersey. Furthermore, it had Clark’s sign, and“Made for making history”was written over the picture.The caption reflected Clark’s journey from her driveway to the NCAA and the WNBA and how she has played with the Wilson ball at every stage.“Driveway. NCAA. WNBA. Playing with Wilson since the journey began – now we’re making it official. Welcome to Wilson Basketball, Caitlin.,”Wilson’s account wrote on the image.

Billie Jean King noticed the picture and commented,“Love to see it!”She congratulated Clark for making it this far. Similarly, Clark’s partner, McCaffery, liked the picture. Clark had revealed in an exclusive to Boardroom that she used to play in her driveway as a kid with Wilson’s ball.She also played with it during her NCAA days, and now, in 2021, Wilson has become the official ball partner for the WNBA. Thus, Clark has used the ball at every stage of her life.

King, too, had an association with Wilson since she had her own exclusive racquet with them, which captured the hearts of tennis fans when it was released in 1969. It had a long handle that generated more power. Therefore, King welcomed Clark with open arms into the $8 billion-worth parent company, Amer. Furthermore, Clark’s association with King is not new.

King following Clark is not new.She had also uploaded a status on Clarkwhen the latter had become the all-time highest scorer in the NCAA men’s and women’s combined. Therefore, it looks like King is an ardent fan of Clark and backs her always.
